Tag Bear

Starting out:

*You will need: Paint Shop Pro 7 or higher [written using 8] || Eye Candy 4000
*The zip file is here.

Open the Tag Bear file.

Selections will be opened by going to Selections > Load From Alpha Channel


** 01 - Raster 1

  • Highlight layer Raster 1.
  • Load the 01 selection.


  • Foreground color: #DB9D4D
  • Background color: #AC7424


  • Flood fill with your Background color. Keep selected.
  • Using your Airbrush tool with the settings below, shade around all pieces with your Foreground color.
  • Deselect.


  • Apply an Eye Candy WEAVE with these settings:


*Note: These Eye Candy Weave settings will be the same throughout the tutorial.
  • Apply an Eye Candy JIGGLE with these settings:


*Note: These Eye Candy Jiggle settings will be the same throughout the tutorial.

** 02 - Raster 2

  • Highlight layer Raster 2.
  • Load the 02 selection.


  • Flood fill with your Background color. Keep selected.
  • Using your Airbrush -- change the size to 36 -- shade around the pieces.
  • Deselect.


  • Apply the Eye Candy Weave
  • Apply the Eye Candy Jiggle

** 03 - Raster 3

  • Highlight layer Raster 3.
  • Load the 03 selection.


  • Flood fill with your Background color. Keep selected.
  • Using your Airbrush -- size 36 -- shade around the head.
  • Deselect.


  • Apply the Eye Candy Weave
  • Apply the Eye Candy Jiggle

** 04 - Raster 4

  • Highlight layer Raster 4.
  • Load the 04 selection.


  • Foreground color: #000000 (black)


  • Flood fill with your Foreground color.
  • Deselect.
  • Apply an Inner Bevel with the Round preset -- change the Shininess to 55

** 05 - Raster 5

  • Highlight layer Raster 5.
  • Load the 05 selection.


  • Foreground color: #DB9D4D


  • Flood fill with your Background color. Keep selected.
  • Using your Airbrush -- size 36 -- shade around the muzzle.
  • Deselect.


  • Apply the Eye Candy Weave
  • Apply the Eye Candy Jiggle

** 06 - Raster 6

  • Highlight layer Raster 6.
  • Load the 06 selection.


  • Foreground color: #000000 (black)


  • Flood fill with your Foreground color.
  • Deselect.

** 07 - Raster 7

  • Highlight layer Raster 7.
  • Load the 07 selection.


  • Foreground color: #800000


  • Flood fill with your Foreground color.
  • Deselect.

** 08 - Raster 8

  • Highlight layer Raster 8.
  • Load the 08 selection.


  • Foreground color: #000000 (black)


  • Flood fill with your Foreground color.
  • Deselect.
  • Apply an Inner Bevel with the Round preset -- change the Shininess to 55

** 09 - Raster 9

  • Highlight layer Raster 9.
  • Load the 09 selection.


  • Foreground color: #724006
  • Background color: #FDFCFB


  • Flood fill with your Foreground color.
    Contract by 1.
    Flood fill with the Background color.
  • Deselect.

** 10 - Raster 10

  • Highlight layer Raster 10.
  • Load the 10 selection.


  • Foreground color: #DB9D4D
  • Background color: #AC7424


  • Flood fill with your Background color. Keep selected.
  • Using your Airbrush -- size 24 -- shade around the pieces.
  • Deselect.


  • Apply the Eye Candy Weave
  • Apply the Eye Candy Jiggle

** Shading

This is written using PSP 8. You may need to play around with the settings if you're using an earlier version.

We'll be using the Darken tool only with these settings:




RASTER 1 layer - darken where the legs meet the body, where the arms meet the body, and the center of the ears.

RASTER 2 layer - darken under the head.

RASTER 3 layer - darken above the muzzle.

RASTER 5 layer - darken quite a bit in the cheek area.

RASTER 9 layer - darken around the tag area and under the paws (not too much!)

~ Add text to the tag area and you're finished! ~
