Love Bees

Starting out:

*You will need: Paint Shop Pro 7.04 or higher.
*The zip file is here.

Open the Love Bees and Wing Tile files.

Selections will be opened by going to Selections > Load From Alpha Channel

** 01 - Heart

  • Highlight layer Heart.
  • Load the Heart selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #C00000.


  • SAME LAYER -- Load the Heart Dark selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #840000.


  • SAME LAYER -- Load the Heart Light selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #FFFFFF (White).

** 02 - Back Wing

  • Highlight layer Back Wing.
  • Load the Back Wing selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #FFFFFF (White).
    Contract by 2.
    Flood fill with the Wing Tile provided. Scale: 100 || Angle: 0

** 03 - Antenna 1

  • Highlight layer Antenna 1.
  • Load the Antenna 1 selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #000000 (Black).

** 04 - Body-Black

  • Highlight layer Body-Black.
  • Load the Body-Black selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #000000 (Black).
  • Invert and apply a Drop Shadow with these settings:
    Vertical and Horizontal: 0 || Opacity: 70 || Blur: 25 || Color: #C0C0C0

** 05 - Antenna 2

  • Highlight layer Antenna 2.
  • Load the Antenna 2 selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #000000 (Black).

** 06 - Yellow Stripes

  • Highlight layer Yellow Stripes.
  • Load the Yellow Stripes selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #EAD249.

** 07 - Antenna Dots

  • Highlight layer Antenna Dots.
  • Load the Antenna Dots selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #000000 (Black).
  • Deselect.
  • Apply an Inner Bevel with the Round preset -- change the Shininess to 40.

** 08 - Front Wing

  • Highlight layer Front Wing.
  • Load the Front Wing selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #FFFFFF (White).
    Contract by 2.
    Flood fill with the Wing Tile provided. Scale: 100 || Angle: 0

** 09 - Eye

  • Highlight layer Eye.
  • Load the Eye selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #000000 (Black).
  • Deselect.
  • Apply an Inner Bevel with the Round preset.
  • Apply a Drop Shadow with the following settings:
    Vertical and Horizontal: -1 (minus 1) || Opacity: 100 || Blur: 1.2 || Color: #FFFFFF
  • Apply another Drop Shadow, changing the following settings:
    Vertical and Horizontal: 1 || Color: #C0C0C0

** Finishing up... here's what I did:

Turn off the Background and Heart layers in your layer palette and merge visible.
This will give you the bee on its own layer.

From there, you can duplicate, mirror, resize, tube... whatever you want.
