Heart Angel

Starting out:

*You will need: Paint Shop Pro 7.04 or higher.
*The zip file is here.

Open the Heart Angel psp file provided.

Selections will be opened by going to Selections > Load From Disk

** Note:

We will be using Brightness/Contrast all throughout this tutorial.
The Contrast will always be set to 0.

** 01 - Hair Back

  • Highlight the Hair Back layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 01-Hair Back.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #835845

** 02 - Shoes

  • Highlight the Shoes layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 02-Shoes.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #000000 (Black).
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 03-Shoe Highlights.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 255
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 04-Shoe Laces.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 255

** 03 - Wings

  • Highlight the Wings layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 05-Wings.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #800000.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 06-Wing Shade 1.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 255
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 07-Wing Shade 2.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 110
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 08-Wing Shade 3.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -70 (minus 70)

** 04 - Dress

  • Highlight the Dress layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 09-Dress.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #CD4D4D.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 10a-Dress Shade 1.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -35 (minus 35)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 10b-Dress Shade 2.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -25 (minus 25)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 10c-Dress Shade 3.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 25

** 05 - Neck

  • Set your Foreground color to: #DEA59C and Background color to: #EBBCB4
  • Highlight the Dress layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 11-Neck.sel
  • Flood fill with the Foreground color.
  • Selections > Modify > Contract by 1.
  • Flood fill with the Background color.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 12-Neck Shade 1.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -25 (minus 25)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 13-Neck Shade 2.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 25
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 14c-Neck Shade 3.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -70 (minus 70)

** Note:

We will be going out of order for the next 3 steps.
(This will be done so you don't have to change colors as often.)

** 06 - Hand 1

  • Highlight the Hand 1 layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 18a-Hand 1.sel
  • Flood fill with the Foreground color.
  • Selections > Modify > Contract by 1.
  • Flood fill with the Background color.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 18b-Hand Shade 1.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -100 (minus 100)

** 07 - Hand 2

  • Highlight the Hand 2 layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 21a-Hand 2.sel
  • Flood fill with the Foreground color.
  • Selections > Modify > Contract by 1.
  • Flood fill with the Background color.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 21b-Hand Shade 2.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -100 (minus 100)

** 08 - Head

  • Highlight the Head layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 26-Head.sel
  • Flood fill with the Foreground color.
  • Selections > Modify > Contract by 1.
  • Flood fill with the Background color.

** 09 - Dress 2

We will be going in order once again.

  • Highlight the Dress 2 layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 15-Dress 2.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #CD4D4D.
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -20 (minus 20)

** 10 - Apron

  • Highlight the Apron layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 16-Apron.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #DD8383.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 17a-Apron Shade 1.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -35 (minus 35)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 17b-Apron Shade 2.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -25 (minus 25)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 17c-Apron Shade 3.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 25

** 11 - Arm 1

  • Highlight the Arm 1 layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 19-Arm 1.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #CD4D4D.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 20a-Arm 1 Shade 1.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -35 (minus 35)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 20b-Arm 1 Shade 2.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -25 (minus 25)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 20c-Arm 1 Shade 3.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 25

** 12 - Arm 2

  • Highlight the Arm 2 layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 22-Arm 2.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #CD4D4D.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 23a-Arm 2 Shade 1.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -35 (minus 35)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 23b-Arm 2 Shade 2.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -25 (minus 25)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 23c-Arm 2 Shade 3.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 25

** 13 - String

  • Highlight the String layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 24-String.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #000000 (Black).

** 14 - Hearts

  • Highlight the Hearts layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 25-Hearts.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #800000.

** 15 - Face

Make the face layer visible.

I have provide a face for you to use. It is only to be used with this image.
I would encourage you to make your own face!

** 16 - Hair

  • Highlight the Hair layer.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 27-Hair.sel
  • Flood fill with the color: #835845.
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 28-Hair Shade 1.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: -20 (minus 20)
  • Selections > Load From Disk > 29-Hair Shade 2.sel
  • Colors > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast -- Brightness: 20
  • Deselect.
  • I used Colorize on the hair with these settings: Hue: 10 || Saturation: 100
