Starting out:

*You will need: Paint Shop Pro 7.0 or higher || Eye Candy 3.1
*The zip file is here.

Open the Easy Bear Tag psp file provided.

Selections will be opened by going to Selections > Load From Alpha Channel

** 01 - Body

  • Highlight layer Body.
  • Load the Body selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #C68873.
  • Invert and apply a Drop Shadow with these settings:
    Vertical and Horizontal: 0 || Opacity: 100 || Blur: 18 || Color: #2E221C
  • Deselect.


  • Effects > Texture Effects > Weave -- with the following settings:
    Gap Size: 1 || Width: 1 || Opacity: 42 || Weave Color: #2E221C || Fill Gaps: Unchecked


  • Effects > Texture Effects > Fur -- with the following settings:
    Blur: 15 || Density: 28 || Length: 11 || Transparency: 242


  • Apply Noise at 3%


  • Apply an Eye Candy *jiggle* with these settings:
    Bubble Size: 10 || Warp Amount: 6 || Twist: 75 || Movement Type: Bubbles


  • Apply Noise again at 3%


  • SAME LAYER -- Load the Body Shade selection.
  • Brightness/Contrast with the following settings:
    Brightness: -50 (minus 50) || Contrast: 0

** 02 - Head

  • Highlight layer Head.
  • Load the Head selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #C68873.
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow.
  • Deselect.
  • Effects > Texture Effects > Weave -- same settings.
  • Effects > Texture Effects > Fur -- same settings:
  • Apply Noise at 3%
  • Apply the Eye Candy *jiggle* with the same settings:
  • Apply Noise again at 3%


  • SAME LAYER -- Load the Head Shade selection.
  • Brightness/Contrast with the same settings.


  • SAME LAYER -- Load the Head Light selection.
  • Brightness/Contrast -- change Brightness to 50.

** 03 - Inner Ears

  • Highlight layer Inner Ears.
  • Load the Inner Ears selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #C68873.
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow.
  • Deselect.
  • Effects > Texture Effects > Weave -- same settings.
  • Effects > Texture Effects > Fur -- same settings:
  • Apply Noise at 3%
  • Apply the Eye Candy *jiggle* with the same settings:
  • Apply Noise again at 3%



** 04 - Eyes

  • Highlight layer Eyes.
  • Load the Eyes selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #000000 (Black).
  • Add an Inner Bevel with the Round preset, but change the Angle to 52.
  • Deselect.

** 05 - Muzzle

  • Highlight layer Muzzle.
  • Load the Muzzle selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #C68873.
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow.
  • Deselect.
  • Effects > Texture Effects > Weave -- same settings.
  • Effects > Texture Effects > Fur -- same settings.
  • Apply Noise at 3%
  • Apply the Eye Candy *jiggle* with the same settings:
  • Apply Noise again at 3%


  • SAME LAYER -- Load the Muzzle Light selection.
  • Brightness/Contrast with the same settings -- Brightness should be 50.

** 06 - Mouth

  • Highlight layer Mouth.
  • Load the Mouth selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #000000 (Black).

** 07 - Nose

  • Highlight layer Nose.
  • Load the Nose selection.
  • Flood fill with the color #000000 (Black).
  • Deselect.
  • Add an Inner Bevel with the Round preset, but change the Angle to 52.

** 08 - Adding Text

  • Highlight layer Name.
  • Foreground: Null || Background: #C68873
  • Select your Text tool.
  • I used the font CoolDots at size 20 and Bold.
  • Where it says "Create As" I have Floating and Antialias selected.
  • Type in the text you want and click OK.


  • Leave selected and apply the following Drop Shadow:
    Vertical and Horizontal: -1 || Opacity: 100 || Blur: 1.2 || Color: #2E221C


  • Leave selected and apply another Drop Shadow, changing:
    Vertical and Horizontal to 1 and the Color to #FFFFFF (White).


  • Deselect and move into place.
