Starting out:

*You will need Paint Shop Pro 7.0 or higher.
*The zip file is here.

Open the Balloon Bear and Fur files provided.

Selections will be opened by going to Selections > Load From Alpha Channel.

**Set your Foreground pattern to the balloonbearfur pattern provided in the zip file with these settings: Scale: 100 || Angle: 0

**Set your Background color to Black (#000000)

** 01 - Arms

  • Highlight layer Arms.
  • Load the Arms selection.
  • Flood fill with the foreground pattern.
  • Invert and apply a Drop Shadow with the following settings:
    Vertical and Horizontal: 0 || Opacity: 100 || Blur: 20 || Color: #1B130F
  • SAME LAYER -- Load Arms Shade selection
  • Brightness/Contrast with the following settings:
    Brightness: -40 (minus 40) || Contrast 0

** 02 - Whole Body

  • Highlight layer Whole Body.
  • Load the Whole Body selection.
  • Flood fill with the foreground pattern.
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow.
  • SAME LAYER -- Load Body Shade selection.
  • Brightness/Contrast with the same settings.

** 03 - Paws

  • Highlight layer Paws.
  • Load the Paws selection.
  • Flood fill with the foreground pattern.
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow.

** 04 - Paws 2

  • Highlight layer Paws 2
  • Load the Paws 2 selection.
  • Flood fill with the foreground pattern.
* Do *not* apply a drop shadow.

** 05 - Muzzle

  • Highlight layer Muzzle.
  • Load the Muzzle selection.
  • Flood fill with the foreground pattern.
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow.
  • Deselect.
  • Brightness/Contrast with the same settings.

** 06 - Feet Pads

  • Highlight layer Feet Pads.
  • Load the Feet Pads selection.
  • Flood fill with the foreground pattern.
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow.
  • Deselect.
  • Brightness/Contrast with the same settings.

** 07 - Inner Ears

  • Highlight layer Inner Ears.
  • Load the Inner Ears selection.
  • Flood fill with the foreground pattern.
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow, but change the blur to 10.
  • Deselect.
  • Brightness/Contrast with the same settings.

** 08 - Eyes

  • Highlight layer Eyes.
  • Load the Inner Eyes selection.
  • Flood fill with the background color -- Black (#000000).
  • Deselect.
  • Apply an Inner Bevel with the Round preset.

** 09 - Mouth

  • Highlight layer Mouth.
  • Load the Inner Mouth selection.
  • Flood fill with the background color -- Black (#000000).

** 10 - Nose

  • Highlight layer Nose
  • Load the Inner Nose selection.
  • Flood fill with the background color -- Black (#000000).
  • Deselect.
  • Apply an Inner Bevel with the Round preset, but change these settings:
    Shininess: 40 || Angle: 351 || Elevation: 44

** 11 - Balloon String

  • Highlight layer Balloon String.
  • Load the Balloon String selection.
  • Flood fill with the background color -- Black (#000000).

** 12 - Balloon Triangle

  • Highlight layer Balloon String.
  • Load the Balloon String selection.
  • Flood fill with the color of your choice for the balloon. I used #C00000.

** 13 - Balloon

  • Highlight layer Balloon.
  • Load the Balloon selection.
  • Flood fill with your balloon color. (#C00000 for me)
  • Invert and apply the same Drop Shadow, but change the following settings:
    Blur: 20 || Color: #800000 (a darker shade of your balloon color)
  • Deselect.
  • Apply Noise at 3%

** 14 - Balloon Highlight

  • Highlight layer Balloon Highlight.
  • Load the Balloon String selection.
  • Flood fill with White -- #FFFFFF
  • Deselect.
