American Flag Paint Shop Pro Tutorial

American Flag

Starting out:
*You will need Paint Shop Pro 7.0 or higher.

*The zip file is here.

Open the American Flag file in PSP

Selections will be opened by going to Selections > Load From Alpha Channel.

** 01 - Flag

Highlight layer Flag.
Load the Flag Red selection.
Flood fill with the color: #C00000
SAME LAYER -- Load the Flag White selection.
Flood fill with the color: #FFFFFF (White)
SAME LAYER -- Load the Flag Blue selection.
Flood fill with the color: #2400C0
SAME LAYER -- Load the Flag Stars selection.
Flood fill with the color: #FFFFFF (White)

** 02 - Flag Pole

Highlight layer Flag Pole.
Load the Flag Pole selection.
Flood fill with the color: #000000
Deselect.
Inner Bevel -- Round preset, but change the Shininess to 30.

** 03 - Flag Topper

Highlight layer Topper.
Load the Flag Topper selection.
Flood fill with the color: #000000
Deselect.
Inner Bevel -- Round preset, but change the Shininess to 60.

** Optional...

I returned to the Flag layer and made it wavy.

To do this, go to: Effects > Geometric Effects > Wave..

The settings I used (in PSP 7):

Horizontal -- Amplitude: 0 || Wavelength: 1
Vertical -- Amplitude: 1 || Wavelength: 35

Of course, feel free to use your own settings.
