Open a new image 100 x 100
Select the Paint Brush tool with these settings:
Paint the outline using these colors: Brown - #976233 || Black - #000000
* Double white lines mean you've already painted those pixels. |

Select the Magic Wand -- Tolerance set to 0.
Select the EARS.
Apply a cutout with the following settings: V: -1 (minus 1) || H: 0 || Opacity: 100 || Blur: 4 || Shadow Color: #976233 Continue on with the rest of the bear. Cutout settings are as follows:

Select the MESSAGE area.
Apply a cutout with the following settings: V: 0 || H: 0 || Opacity: 70 || Blur: 10 || Shadow Color: #A48066 Selections > DEFLOAT Selections > Float Apply another cutout with the same settings, but change the Vertical to 3 and the Blur to 8 Selections > Select None |

Add a new layer named FACE.
Paint the face using these colors: Black - #000000 and Gray - #C0C0C0 ![]() Select the Magic Wand -- Tolerance set to 0. Select inside the NOSE.
Apply a cutout with the following settings: V: -5 (minus 5) || H: 2 || Opacity: 100 || Blur: 4 || Shadow Color: #000000 Selections > Select None |

Add your name or whatever text you'd like. I would strongly suggest saving a psp version of your message bear with no text. That way you'll always have the base and you'll be able to add new wording without having to redo the whole tutorial. |

Here's another possibility if you want him peeking out of a chimney: ![]() I did the message area as mentioned above and then went over it with the Darken tool. The chimney is done on a separate layer. It's made with simple rectangles. Outlined with #800000 and colored in with #C00000 I added noise, and then used the Darken tool to darken it up a bit. Be creative and have fun! |
