The purpose of this is to show you how *I* stay organized. Hopefully, it will give you a few ideas for organizing your own files and keeping them that way. For easy access, I have most of my folders on my desktop, but you can put them wherever you want. On my desktop, I have 3 folders that pertain to this topic:
Let's say you're ready to do a tutorial. You click on the zip file download link, find your NEW TUTS folder, add a new folder with the name of your tutorial, and save the file. For this example, we'll pretend we're doing Wendy's Tole Star Angel tutorial.
Note: I also unzip the contents of the zip file to the same folder (as shown above) Note: I *ALWAYS* save as a PSP file with layers unmerged. |

You may have noticed the folder I have in the New Tuts folder named 1-Finished. Once I have finished a tutorial, I move the entire folder to the 1-Finished folder. This helps me keep track of which tutorials I've finished and which ones I still have to do.
Okay, now to start putting everything in its place. Within the Tut Writers folder, I have one folder for each tutorial writer. I have named them to my liking. Be sure to name them to your liking.
![]() Within the Tutorials folder, I have one folder for each category. The categories match each of the sections on this site, but you can, of course, make up your own categories.

Open:
In PSP, go to File > Browse and browse to your 1-Finished folder. On the left side you will see all of your tutorial folders listed. Click on the Tole Star Angel listing and you will see all images from that folder show up on the right side.
![]() From there, I double-click on my finished image to open it. Once it's open, go to File > Save As. Navigate to your Tut Writers folder and save it in the sub folder of your choice. Since it's a tutorial from Wendy, I have it saved in the Tut Writers > WGBcreations.com folder:
![]() *** Please note: It is VERY IMPORTANT that you save it with a transparent background, if you plan to tube this image later following the rest of this tutorial. As you could see in the example a few steps back, I usually have several finished tutorials in the 1-Finished folder. It's easier to do several at once than one at a time. :) When I have saved each finished image to the Tut Writers section, I close the browser window. I'd say close PSP, but there's no harm in leaving it open. LOL! Bring up your 1-Finished folder and your Tutorials folder. I resize the windows so they both fit on the screen.
![]() Finally, drag *from* the 1-Finished window *to* the appropriate folder in the Tutorials windows. That's all! Everything should now be organized and you shouldn't have any trouble finding what you're looking for. |
