Chalkaholic Technique

Note: The image I chose to use came from a tutorial in the members only area of the Prestigious Dames.
The shadow is made using Eye Candy 4000's Motion Trail filter.

** You will need:

Open a New Image with a transparent background.

The size does not really matter. You just need enough room to work with. I like to have plenty of room, so my new images are always 680 x 520 which basically fills the available work space in my PSP.

Add an image of your choice.

This can be achieved by copy/paste or by using the Picture Tube tool.

Layers > Duplicate

With the duplicate layer active, go to Effects > Plugins > Little Ink Pot > Chalkaholic

We're going to use the default settings: stroke size 2 || contrast 30

Click Apply.

On the layer palette, change the Blend Mode of the duplicate layer to Overlay.

Now adjust the Opacity of this layer to your liking.

Mine is usually set in the 40 to 70 range.

That's all there is to it!

** Tip

Try different Blend Mode options.

Aside from Overlay, I've had great results with Hard Light and Luminance. It will all depend on the image you choose. Play around until you have something to your liking.

Another Example

Want to save it as a tube?

We do this to get rid of any excess space.

The End!

I hope you enjoyed learning this technique!
